This course introduces BSN students to the fundamental concepts and applications of statistics in nursing. It begins with an overview of descriptive statistics, including types of data and methods for summarizing and presenting them. The curriculum then progresses to inferential statistics, covering estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and the procedures used to conduct statistical analyses. Practical applications will be demonstrated in class using PSPP software.

The course Ethics and Deontology provide nursing students with a foundation in the moral values and professional responsibilities essential to their practice. It is designed to prepare future nurses to make sound ethical judgments in patient care, particularly in difficult or complex situations. The course covers major principles such as autonomy, confidentiality, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and professional integrity, as well as the ethical guidelines that regulate nursing practice. It also examines common ethical challenges encountered in clinical environments, promoting reflection, critical thinking, empathy, and respect for human dignity. Ultimately, the course aims to develop nurses who deliver high-quality care while consistently adhering to strong ethical and professional standards.
